2024 Review Newsletter

Another year has passed, and we marvel at His goodness. You, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient and demonstrate great loyal love and faithfulness.

(Ps 87:15 NET)

Family

· Holding at 4 kids, 14 grandkids, and Chery’s parents (93).

· We were with all our kids twice: once for a week vacation (July) in Indianapolis, IN and together for the wedding of our oldest grandson the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Nashville, TN.

Ministry & Service

· We continue hosting a LifeGroup and LifeSprings, a house church.

· Ron is doing work for the NEO District and Chery is the shepherd of pastor wives with Assist Church Expansion.

· Through our Coach for You LLC we coach and assess leaders for service.

· Ron is also: 1) writing a paper for the Charis Symposium on mutual submission, 2) writing a book on Biblical submission, 3) and serving on the Assist Board.

Other notable developments

· Chery and I like to get away for a week by ourselves each year. In June we vacationed in the Shenandoah Valley area.

· Our grandkids in the Akron area had a good year with running, soccer, basketball and flag football. Nora got the third highest school record for cross country running; Will got first place in a state competition.

· Three of our granddaughters are on their church’s worship team and are sometimes the lead singers. These are Evie Kunkler, Faith and Hope Patton.

· Hope Patton, a high school senior, is our only cheerleader, in case you are wondering since Chery was one for many years. Wren and Anna, 9 yr. olds, were our unofficial cheerleaders for the family viewing of the Ohio State football games in our living room this Fall.

· Home projects: painted several rooms in our house and constructed a “window” over the kitchen sink. Also, did a lot of reducing stuff in our guest room to make it a more comfortable space.

Health & Well-Being

· We are doing well. Ron finished his participation in a 2-year Cleveland Clinic research project regarding Alzheimer’s. He walks regularly and works to keep his weight down by eating carefully.

· Chery had a rough year experiencing more pain than usual from so many different causes: treatment of an ongoing facial twitch, cataract eye surgery, shingles, removal of a lesion, root canal, Mohs surgery on her right cheek, and a bad allergic reaction to Virginia Creeper. She was glad to see 2024 come to an end with most of these items in her past now.

We just wanted to give you a few highlights from 2024. The BIG event for us was Connor’s wedding, hence most of the pictures on the back.

Thanks for being our friends! God’s best to each one in 2025!

Grace to you,

Ron & Chery Boehm

Will took first place in the Metro Athletic Conference race. He was 13 seconds ahead of second place, and the first among 50 other junior high boys who ran that day.

Out for a hike. First stop is a very interesting nature center.

After the hike, all look well. Can you tell we have some hams in the group? Fun!

Cheering for those Ohio State Buckeyes. GO BUCKS!

We enjoyed the Total Eclipse with three of our four kids and their kids, April 8th.

This is where I planned to cut out a whole in our living room wall that was above our kitchen sink.

There it is - the drywall cut out. I had to re-route some electric wires.

Here’s the finished product. When we were looking for a house in the Fall of 1985, one of the two requests that Chery had was a window over the sink. She was very concerned about cutting a hole in a good wall. It took years for me to convince her, but now that it’s finished, she really likes it.

A year to remember!
